Chapter 1367: People In Love Are Dangerous

Chapter 1367: People In Love Are Dangerous

Lu Lian whispered to Ming Rusheng, “Other than we two, all are sitting in the wrong places.”

“As long as you are with me,” he said as he didn’t mind who sat where.

Jessica looked at Lu Lijun, Noah and her cousin Jake, “After so long we four are together like this. Feels like back in university days.” She looked at president Lu, “Lijun and Noah are fortunate to have you around and get the chance to learn from you. These two are a perfect combo to work together.”

Jiang Yuyan nodded, “Lu Corporation accepts nothing less than perfection.”

Noah looked at Lu Lijun in disbelief as if asking, ‘Did President Lu just call us perfect?’

Lu Lijun smiled and looked at Jiang Yuyan as he thought, ‘Not just in company but I will surely be perfect for you. Just wait.’

Jessica turned to her cousin who was sitting next to Jiang Yuyan and said teasingly, “By the way Jake, those friends I just met were asking about you and president Lu.”

“Huh?” Jake offered her questing gaze.

“Everyone was curious to know president Lu after they heard for the first time you danced with someone other than your mother and sisters.”

“They can just go through the internet to know about President Lu,” Jake countered.

“Well, everyone thought you two looked good together,” she added.

“Handsome man and pretty lady are bound to look good together,” Jake said.

Jessica chuckled, “Thought you are Narcissist my dear cousin but you are right.”

Jiang Yuyan didn’t know how to react while Lu Lijun glared at Jake and Noah stood quiet. Xiao Min didn’t know how to react even as he only looked at his boss.

The hotel staff started to bring the delicious dishes and arranged them at the table. Just as everyone started to eat, Jessica got a message. She smiled and held up her mobile to click a picture of Jake and Jiang Yuyan who were sitting exactly opposite to her and Lu Lijun.

No one knew what she was up to. Just as she finished, she said, “Jake, I am sorry but I was obliged to send your and president Lu’s picture. Other than our family so many of you saw you together and wished to have more pictures.”

“You didn’t have to.”

“I am sorry but I did it for you,” she said and Jake raised his eyebrows in question.

“There are pictures being spread among our family of you two dancing together,” she informed.

“So?” Jake asked nonchalantly.

“My dear brother, you should know you are a prince and everyone pays close attention to your actions. To date, you never showed up with any woman and neither had a girlfriend, so I had to clear things.”

“What things?” he asked.

Others who were eating quietly were only hearing them and wished to know what she wanted to say.

“Well, you know. Not like I mind it but after you and president Lu looked so good together, what everyone thought till now seemed to be wrong. So I sent this picture to prove them wrong.”

“I would like it if you said it clearly. I am sure not just me, others wished to know what you are trying to say,” Jake said.

“I was clearing their doubt that they think you are not into women and…,” she replied a little hesitantly.

“And?” he asked.

Others sitting around could feel the coldness around Jake though he looked calm.

“And you are into men,” she said and smiled, “But it’s not true….”

“What if it’s true?” he asked, looking straight at her.

Everyone stopped and didn’t know what to say or react. Noah held his breath and looked at Jake who didn’t look like he said something wrong.

Jessica smiled awkwardly, “Well, it’s fine too. Whatever you like,” she replied.

“Hmm,” he said and had a sip of juice. “Then delete those pictures. Not good to drag a lady in our matters.” He was calm and composed.

“Okay! Don’t mind me,” she said.

“I know you care for me Jessica, but some things are just the way they can be,” Jake said.

She nodded, “I understand.”

Noah felt relieved that the subject was over and thought, ‘Did he just admit to his sister?’ he could not guess the meaning of the last line Jake said.

Lu Lijun thought what Jessica did was fine as it gave Jake a chance to admit it openly and he might not hesitate later on. But he could see Jessica almost got goosebumps from the way that cold prince talked to her. Though it looked normal, those who knew him could sense the coldness underneath those words and tone and Jessica could surely sense it.

‘Poor girl,’ Lu Lijun thought and passed her one dish, “I remember you like this. Have some.” He just tried to coax her. She was not just their university friend but Jake’s cousin so Lu Lijun and Noah always treated her well. Moreover, she was a nice person.

“You remember it, Lu Lijun?” she smiled, “Thank you.”

“No worries,” he smiled back but he didn’t know a pair of eyes that saw him smiling and taking care of a girl, had hidden jealousy in them.

“You are such a gentleman Lijun, I wonder why you didn’t have any girlfriend yet. If there is no one, I don’t mind us dating,” she said and before Lu Lijun could answer her, she looked at Jiang Yuyan, “President Lu, will it be fine if Lijun dates me?”

“It’s his time to focus on his career. It would be better if he would not waste his time behind these things,” she said, without batting an eyelid.

Other than Jessica, others were not surprised to get this reaction from Jiang Yuyan.

Lu Lian pitied the girl now and mumbled. “Seems like it’s her bad day today.”

Lu Lijun looked at Jiang Yuyan and could not be happier than this, ‘Wait, is she jealous.?I am sure she is or she would not have cornered the poor girl like this.’ He was grinning inwardly.

“Well, I’ll wait for him,” Jessica replied but Jiang Yuyan said nothing.

First Jake and now Jiang Yuyan, both only turned the air around seriously. These people in love were such scary ones.
