3279 False Promise

Puch!

My sword pierced through its heart before I moved away from it immediately.

I shouldn’t have, as the energy froze at the right time, but I couldn’t take a risk.

I didn’t get a chance to test it on a lot of Sovereigns and this was the most powerful, I have faced.

A level above compared to all the others; I had fought in the castle.

Though they were the weaklings, this one is standard. Nearly all the Sovereigns I had seen in this place had average strength similar to it; some were weaker than that, while some were stronger.

Tap!

I appeared beside it a moment later and tapped it on the shoulder. A moment later, it had disappeared.

A second later, I appeared at my core, where formations were pouring the energies inside me. My injuries are not fake, they are serious, and now the formations pouring power to heal them.

“Human, what is this place?” Crockman shouted from its prison. “My core,” I replied to it with a smile.

The smile on my face became even bigger when I saw the runes materializing and climbing over its body. Now, even if it wants to die, it couldn’t die.

“How is that possible? Sovereigns don’t have internal worlds, only Primes have that,” it said in shock while trying to push the runes, but it is not having any effect.

“I am not Sovereign,” I replied, and I could see it relaxed for a moment before even a greater shock appeared on its face.

When it sensed my Initial Primary III aura.

“Impossible!” it gasped in shock as it looked at me in horror. “It is the truth; it is up to you, whether you believe it, or not,” I said, and its expressions become worse, before suddenly, they started easing up.

“Release me, human, or I will self-destruct. Taking you and this whole damn place with me,” it said, and the smile on my face grew bigger.

“You cannot self-destruct here,” I said with a smile. It hesitated before its expressions become firm.

“Watch me,” it said and closed its eyes, but a couple of seconds later, opened them, with deep shock in them.

“You are in my domain, even to die. You need to take my permission.” I said, “Though, if you give me what I want, I could let you get out of here,” I added, and it looked at me suspiciously.

“You will just kill me after you get what you wanted,” It said, to which I shook my head.

“I promise I will release you. The information is more important to me than your little life,” “Though, you will be a little injured in the soul, since I need to remove this memory and I will have your storage,”

It did not reply and instead stared at me with great suspicion.

“You should decide quickly; once those runes covered you fully, even I won’t be able to save you,” I said to its suspicious eyes, and it looked at runes, which have covered half of it externally and internally.

“The higher-ups didn’t provide us with all the information. Only Earth Sovereigns are aware of the whole information,” it said.

“It is fine. Tell me everything you know about, including the exits,” I said to it.

“Our two hundred thousand years ago, our puppets have discovered something. A grand treasure that could help one make a breakthrough into the realm beyond the prime,”ραпdα `nᴏνɐ| сom

“A traitorous bastard released this information to the realms and their primes descended.’

“Who got that treasure in the end?” I asked, to which it shook its head. “I do not know,” it replied.

“What are the three places you have been asked to visit by higher-ups?” I asked and a surprise couldn’t help but appear on its face. This is information, Nero had heard, eavesdropping on two Sovereigns.

“Show me on this man?” I said and a giant map protected in front of it. It is an amalgamation of all the maps I had found in the storage of Grimms, and even the bastard seemed surprised seeing it.

“The Mist Valley, Gnar Tower, and Jox Whirpool,” it replied, motioning toward three places, which noted normally.

“Only Mist Valley could be entered this time.” It added.

“What are they?” I asked.

“Treasure lands. There are huge treasures in them. Hundreds of people found treasure there, that helped them break into Earth Sovereign stage,” it replied and had excitement in its voice in the last sentence.

I know it is hiding something, seeing that sick joy hiding behind the excitement, but I do not care.

“Where are the exits? Yours and the ones you have found,” I asked, and it took a moment to answer that. “I only know two; one that leads us to our base and another, somewhere I don’t know,” it answered.

“Point toward them?” I asked, and a moment later, it did, before turning to me.

“I have answered all your questions. Now release me,” it demanded, and I smiled at it. “I am sorry, but I do not release monsters,” I replied and turned away from it.

I felt a little bad at breaking promises like that, but I know it is a monster and I do not keep the promises to monsters. One and a half seconds later, the harvest begins and now, I couldn’t have it, even if I wanted to. I do not want to save it.

I looked at the map and add the information I had received.

I know I couldn’t believe it all; it had certainly hidden many things, but I expected that. Still, the information it provided was quite substantial.

On the way, I will need to corroborate it with a few more Grimms and will need to get it from fellow natives.

I now have some information and for the first time coming to this ruin, I felt like. I might be able to get out of it; it will be dangerous, but I will give my everything for that.

I looked at exits; they are on the way, but I will not go there unless I verify it from my fellow natives.

It might be their bases with Peak Sovereigns and even Earth Sovereigns in them. I will be discovered before I could even see them, and I don’t want that.

I have already been kidnapped by the earth sovereign once; I don’t want to do it again. It is the same for the mist valley. I had sensed the fear in the eyes of the Grimm, when it had uttered those words.

I closed the map and turned to the Crockman, which was getting harvested.

The resistance is quickening at a very fast speed; the clear phantom had also faded a lot. Soon, it will completely disappear, and a few seconds after that, the Grimm.

I smiled at that thought and got out of my core; I am still injured, but not enough that I couldn’t defend against any unexpected danger.

After I picked up the stolen field artifact; I resumed my journey. Hoping to come across many of such delicious Grimms.
